Powder Coating FAQs
We apply a thin, durable layer of plastic to prepared surfaces, available in a range of colours and finishes. Restoren delivers exceptional results every time.
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a process by which a metal part is fully coated in plastic. This is achieved by spraying the part with plastic powder then baking it in an oven to melt the plastic and adhere it to the surface.
What materials can be powder coated?
Any metal that can withstand up to 180°C and accepts an electrical charge is suitable for polyester powder coating.
How long will powder coating last?
This will depend on the environment that the part is in, however it is a very durable finish and if applied correctly, will last a very long time.
What finishes are available?
We stock satin in most cases as it's a good compromise and we think it's gives the highest-end look. However, there are lots of options to choose from; from matt to full gloss and lots of speciality finishes including crinkle, metallic, fluorescent and hammered finishes. Any of these can be ordered in for your job.
How much does powder coating cost?
We charge a flat rate of £60 per hour plus £10 per oven curing cycle. However, powder coating is a relatively quick process once the preparation is done and working in batches can save a lot of cost. Get in contact for a quote and to ask any questions.
